Nigerian rap sensation, Tochukwu Ojogwu, also known as Odumodublvck, recently shared his top 5 Afrobeat artists of the moment. In a special appearance on London’s 90 podcast, he confidently ranked these artists based on their activity and impact in the industry.
Odumodublvck placed Burna Boy at the top of his list, highlighting Burna Boy’s significant presence and influence in the Afrobeat scene. He then placed Davido in the second position, acknowledging his contributions to the genre. However, he surprised many by stating that, “based on activity,” Wizkid didn’t qualify to be in the top 5 at the moment.
To round out his top 5, Odumodublvck included Tems, Asake, and Rema in that order. He emphasized the importance of recognizing their current activity and impact in the industry.
Despite not including Wizkid in his top 5, Odumodublvck acknowledged Wizkid’s legendary status and gave him an honorable mention among the other artists.
