Princess Onyejekwe, a former housemate of Big Brother Naija All Stars who was recently evicted, has encouraged her supporters to initiate a petition directed at the show’s organizers.
During the live eviction show on Sunday, the eviction jury, consisting of Bisola Aiyeola, Dorathy Bachor, and Mike Edwards, collectively chose Princess for eviction. Princess became the first contestant to be evicted this season.
Among the three housemates with the lowest fan votes for eviction, Ike had (1.59%), Princess had (1.54%), and Seyi (0.89%). Despite Princess receiving nearly twice the votes as the least-voted housemate, the unanimous decision of the judges led to her eviction.
In a discussion with Naija FM in Lagos, Princess expressed her disappointment on behalf of her fans. She highlighted the disparity between the votes she received and the jury’s decision, which resulted in her unjust eviction.
Princess called upon her followers to take action by lodging a formal petition to the producers of the reality show in response to the perceived unfairness. She stated:
“I feel bad for my fans because they are the ones that took their time to vote but the votes didn’t reflect because of the [eviction] jury. So, they are the ones to protest. They should create an open page and write a petition to Big Brother [organizers]. As for me, I’ll be at home, I’ve done my best.”
Princess’s plea underscores the deep connection and sense of injustice felt by both her and her dedicated supporters following her unexpected eviction from the show.
