Super Falcons coach, Onome Ebi celebrates her first coach for teaching her football [Video]

Super Falcons coach, Onome Ebi, has expressed her profound gratitude towards her first mentor, Mr. Paul Okwudili Nnakwe, fondly known as Palepa, for his pivotal role in nurturing and shaping her into the accomplished footballer she is today.

The 40-year-old Nigerian football star took a heartfelt step by inviting her grassroots coach to her home to honor and acknowledge him for the invaluable lessons he imparted to her.

Onome Ebi proudly introduced Palepa to the world, attributing her skills and accomplishments to his dedicated coaching and guidance. She recounted the early years when he instilled the foundations of soccer within her, even in the face of criticisms of his methods, he remained well-regarded.

Reflecting on their journey, Ebi highlighted how Palepa’s influence was akin to that of a father figure, especially in the absence of her biological father who has passed away.

Their emotional meeting culminated in a touching moment as the talented footballer embraced her coach, conveying her heartfelt appreciation for his guidance, teachings, and the protection he provided during her formative years as a budding athlete.
