Portable In Police Custody Over Alleged Assault, Interrogated and Released On Bail
Nigerian Vocal street artist Habib Okikiola professionally known as Portable is released on bail in police custody after interrogation over alleged assault.
The singer who turned himself in after the Ogun State Police Command declared him wanted.
The Zazuh crooner who was reportedly to be involved in an accident which lead to the death of a motorcyclist and allegedly assaulted someone in Ogun State on 29th June 2022 turns himself in to the Ogun State Police Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Portable was accompanied by his manager and dearly father when he arrived.
The police commissioner, CP Lanre Bankole, promptly transferred the musician to the public complaint bureau office for questioning. The singer was later released on the condition that he be made accessible whenever necessary.
Since the offence committed is a bailable one, and coupled with the strike action embarked upon by the civil servants in the state which also affected the courts, the suspect was released to a reliable surety who promised to produce him anytime he is needed,” says police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi.
“Meanwhile, the assaulted victim has also been invited to come and state his own side of the story to enable the command to complete her investigation on time”, Mr Oyeyemi said.

Portable’s Aide Reportedly Crushed A Motorcyclist To Death In Ogun State
Zazoo zeh crooner, Habeeb Okikiola professionally known as Portable aide was said to have hit the bike rider with his Range Rover.
The motorcyclist died shortly after he was rushed to the hospital. Speaking about the incident, Portable said he was at his child’s naming ceremony when the incident happened.
He also promised to “bless” the family of the motorcyclist, while insisting he wasn’t the one who “killed” him.
“It’s a lie, I didn’t use my car to kill anyone, I’m at a naming ceremony. I’m celebrating my child’s naming ceremony today. I’m not the one who hit the person with my car,” he said.
“But I’m pained about the person who died. I went to the hospital to help the person before he passed. I’m thankful to God though, may God repose the soul of the deceased.
“We will bless and help the family, but I’m not the one who hit the person. Thank God though. By the grace of God, nothing will happen to me. I won’t use my car to kill anyone talk more of going to jail.”
This is coming a few days after Portable was invited to the police station as he and his crew beat up a DJ.

Headies 2022: Organisers Report Singer Portable to Police Over Threat to Harm Co-nominees if He Loses
Organisers of the prestigious Headies award have caught wind of a disturbing comment recently made by nominated rising star, Portable.
However, a portion of the video saw Portable threatening to cause trouble and kill co-nominees if he doesn’t emerge as the winner of the nominated categories.
Well, the singer’s words didn’t go down well with the organisers who disclosed that the matter has been reported to the police in a recent statement shared online.
The statement read in part:
“The Headies dissociates itself and any activities relating to the Awards, from any form of violence, abuse, threat or intimidation, and officially request that popular fast-rising Nigerian artiste, @portablebaeby retract his statement in a video published on his social media platform on May 25, 2022, that insinuates acting in a violent manner to other nominated artistes.”

Portable tenders an apology to Headies over death threats to nominees (Video)
Zazooh Zeh Crooner, Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable has tendered an unreserved apology to the organisers of the Headies Award.
The singer who has been nominated in two categories at the Headies had earlier taken to his Instagram page to threaten to beat up his co-nominees who clinches an award.
Portable was nominated to contest for ‘Rookie of the Year’ and ‘Best Street-Hop Artiste’ categories when the Headies unveiled the nominees for its 2022 edition on Tuesday, May 24th.
In a video which went viral, Portable threatened the life of his opponent who wins the award over him.He vowed to kill whoever wins the award over him.
Hours after his post, Headies threatened to disqualify him if he doesn’t retract his statement. The body stated that it doesn’t condone or accept such behaviour and as such he should be disregarded.
The Headies also revealed that the Police have been alerted should anything go wrong.
The award boy called for him to retract his statement and tender a written apology to nominees in both categories or risk losing his award.
“Should Mr Okikiola fail to meet our demands, we will not only disqualify him from participating in The Headies but also enforce the instrumentality of the law. The general public are hereby implored to disregard the video and stop the dissemination of the same in the public space,” The Headies noted.
The singer took to his Instagram page to tender an apology to the organisers and his nominees.
He stated that he was only joking and catching cruises and meant no harm to anyone.

The Zazuu Crooner did his own version of Drake – God’s Plan by storming in a Chicken Republic Restaurant with his crew and paid for their services while their presence was felt by their patrons.
The music star made enough noise to attract the attention of the customers as he encouraged them to pick whatever they wanted.
One excited fan was seen kneeling down to pay homage to Portable but the singer quickly stopped him and told him to buy any food he wanted.
In the video, Portable was heard saying that he had bought everything as he continued to encourage the customers to pick their choice of food.
Interestingly, most of the people at the restaurant did not look too excited to see Portable and many of them decided to mind their business while others stared at the singer with strange looks on their faces.
