Education and Early Life

 Travis Scott was born as Jacques Webster in Houston, Texas on April 30, 1992. He spent the majority of his formative years in Missouri City with his grandmother. Later, he relocated to the suburbs to live with his father.

He attended a private institution prior to enrolling at Elkins High School. Following his 2007 graduation from the same institution, he was admitted to the University of Texas at San Antonio. 

Scott dropped out of college during his second year to pursue a career in music. Infuriated by this, his parents withdrew their financial support.

Career

Travis Scott moved to New York City after leaving college to pursue a career in music. Initially, he desired to be a record producer and began to concentrate on hip-hop production. He spent most of his time in New York at the Just Blaze studio.

Together with his lifelong buddy Chris Holloway, he formed the band “The Graduates.” In 2008, they released their first EP via the social networking website MySpace.

In 2009, he and his former classmate OG Chess founded the group “The Classmates.” From 2009 to 2010, The Classmates released two albums. In contrast to the first, which was with Buddy Rich, the second was with Cruis’n USA. Scott focused on the production aspects of both projects. 

Due to financial and personal issues, the duo separated in 2012 after remaining together until that year.

Both professionally and psychologically, Travis Scott experienced a temporary low point in his life. While nothing noteworthy was occurring in his musical career, his lack of financial resources left him with meager resources to exist. 

He traveled between Los Angeles and Houston and Los Angeles. TI of Grand Hustle Record heard Scott’s production “Lights Love Sick” by chance and signed him to a contract.

“Owl Pharaoh” was the title of Scott’s first ever full-length production. Call it fate or bad luck, but the project’s release was delayed and later remade by Kanye West and Mike Dean. Meanwhile, Scott released “Blocka La Flame,” a remix of Pusha T’s “Blocka” single on the GOOD Music label.

Originally intended for “Owl Pharaoh,” Scott released a music video for the song “Quintana” in March 2013. During this time, Scott joined the 2013 Freshman Class of the XXL.

Travis Scott released a preview of his commercial debut track ‘Upper Echelon’ towards the end of March 2013. Finally, the record was delivered to Urban Contemporary Radio and made available for free download.

Scott released the single “Don’t Play” in July 2014, which served as a prelude to his major label debut studio album “Days Before Rodeo.” 

The song was a huge success. This popularity prompted Scott to announce a concert tour titled “The Rodeo Tour” alongside rapper Young Thug of Rich Gang and producer Metro Boomin. The tour began in Santa Ana, California, on March 1, 2015, and concluded in Portland, Oregon, on April 1, 2015.

The Rodeo Tour was a tremendous success and made Travis Scott a household name overnight. Kanye West, Chris Brown, Wale, and Birdman made special guest appearances on different legs of the tour in cities including Denver, Colorado; Houston, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; Detroit, Michigan; New York City; Atlanta, Georgia; Philadelphia; San Diego; Los Angeles; San Francisco; and Seattle, Washington. It is considered one of the craziest rap tours of the present day.

The long-awaited album Rodeo by Scott was released in September 2015.

It featured guest performances from other artists. The album debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 list and was a huge success. On the Billboard Rap Album list, ‘Rodeo’ debuted at the top position.

His “Rodeo” album featured the singles “3500” and “Antidote”. While ‘3500’ was a critically lauded smash, it was ‘Antidote’ that launched his career. It became the highest-charting single on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, reaching number 16 at its peak.

In 2016, he released the joint single “Pick Up The Phone” alongside Thug. The record had tremendous popularity and peaked at number 43 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America has certified it as double platinum (RIAA).

Midway through 2016, Scott stated that his second and third albums would be titled “Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight” and “AstroWorld,” respectively. On the third edition of.

In September 2016, he announced the premiere of the second album ‘Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight’. 

The album was subsequently available on iTunes and Apple Music. On September 11, 2016, the album reached the top spot on the US Billboard 200 for Scott. He secured a contract with Universal Music Publishing Group the next day.

In February 2017, Scott played during All-Star Weekend at Champion Square in New Orleans. In March, he also played at the BUKU Music + Art Project festival in New Orleans. 

Simultaneously, he gave the green light to his subsequent performance tour, “Birds Eye View,” which visited places such as New Orleans, Louisiana, and Eugene. The European portion of the tour began on June 23 and ended on July 9.

In addition to working on his third album, he appeared on the tune “Portland” from Canadian rapper Drake’s project “More Life”. This was his highest-charting single as a featured artist, reaching number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100. 

During this period, he began collaborating with Atlanta-based rapper Quavo of Migos on an album.

Scott uploaded three new songs to SoundCloud in May 2017, including “A Man,” “Green & Purple” (with Playboi Carti), and “Butterfly Effect.” He followed it up with a “DAMN.

Tour” and a performance of their track “Walk On Water” at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards.

By the end of 2017, Scott was featured in the song “Dark Knight Dummo” by Trippie Redd. It reached No. 72 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. 

The following week, his album with Quavo, Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho, was released. Seven tracks from the album charted on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

The debut album “Rodeo” and its hit “Antidote” are the most notable works by Travis Scott. While “Rodeo” debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 chart and number one on the Billboard Rap Album chart, its single “Antidote” became his highest-charting single on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number sixteen. It was his first single to go platinum.

Scott’s second album, “Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight,” was a tremendous smash and cemented his status as a dominant rapper and singer. 

The CD assisted him in landing a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group.

Personal Life and Heritage

Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner began dating in April 2017. In September, rumors circulated that Jenner was pregnant with the couple’s first child. The couple had their daughter, Stormi, in February 2018.
